Updating Status

APIs in Xapi have their own status, allowing teams to track progress throughout the API design phase. When an API is created, it initially starts with the To Do status. Authorized users can update the API status based on its progress, regardless of whether the API is internal or external.

Xapi enables marking the progress of an API by switching between the following statuses:

  • To Do
  • Design in Progress
  • Review in Progress
  • Done

Permissions

Xapi permits authorized users to update the feature artifact status as given below:

  • Designer:

Permitted status changes for API Designer
  • Reviewer, Organization Admin, Organization Owner:

Permitted status changes for API Reviewer, Organization Admin, and Organization Owner

The status update process varies based on the type of API and project settings as follows:

  • Internal APIs created in Kanban-enabled projects follows status transition with the Kanban tickets.
  • Internal APIs in Kanban-disabled projects support manual status updates.
  • External APIs in Kanban-enabled projects have Kanban ticket based status updated to reflect progress, even though they are not directly managed within the platform.
  • External APIs in Kanban-disabled projects allow authorized users to update their status manually.
